Description :
Multi colour handwoven nuapatana cotton ikat saree from the weavers of Sambalpur, Odisha. The pattern for this saree evolves through a process of dyeing the warp and weft threads prior to inter-weaving. This technique of ikat weaving on a traditional handloom is a beautiful art of poetry on the loom. This saree is woven with parts in which flower motifs on the body and pallu. Ikat stripe design are woven on the border of the saree.
