Qasab – meaning "craft skill" in Kutchi, is a producer company, having a member base of 1500 + rural crafts women from 11 ethnic communities, spread across 65 villages of interior kutch. . The artisan women of Qasab have been able to channelize their traditional skills of Kutchi embroidery, applique, and patchwork in creating premium product lines that reflect the traditional and cultural identity of their community
While the artisan groups have been working together from 1997, the Qasab-Kutch Craftswomen’ Producer company was established in 2010 as a collective enterprise owned & managed by traditional crafts women.
Qasab – is just not a business that creates sustainable livelihood opportunities for the embroidery craftswomen of Kutch, but is also a platform for them to express their creativity.
