the varamahalashkmi pooja is celebrated as either a week-long vratha or a single day celebration mostly in the south of India.
The day is dedicated to worshipping goddess Varamahalakshmi, believed to be equivalent to all the AshtaLakshmi - eight forms of the Goddess Lakshmi - signifying the aspects of Wealth, Earth, Wisdom, Love, Fame, Peace, Contentment and Strength. The pooja is performed to seek prosperity, happiness and well-being of the family.
