Meher Sarees, a weaver’s organization founded in 2002 by Ramkrishna Meher, celebrates and helps develop the craftsmanship of weavers in Orissa and the authentic beauty of the Sambalpuri tie and dye sarees.


Having trained more than 500 weavers and evolved more than 800 tie and dye styles, Meher Sarees was the first handloom entrepreneur of Odisha that was registered under India Handloom Brand, in the year 2015. By developing ikat designs to suit contemporary styles, Sri Meher has helped preserve its authentic beauty, making it a timeless design.



Having grown from a humble start with just 12 weavers, Meher Sarees has achieved some remarkable milestones through the years. The National award 2015 & Rashtriya gaurav award in 2016 being the biggest moments of pride for Sri Ramkrishna Meher apart from the many awards they received at the regional level. In 2016, they had the fortune of preparing the Sambalpuri cloth for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They also presented Ikat wall hanging named ‘Prakriti’ to Baba Ramdev. In 2017, Meher Sarees flew in to attend the India sourcing fair at Santiago City, Chile, South America to proudly present their collection under the Indian Handloom Brand.



Crafting the livelihoods of over 800 weavers and promoting Sambalpuri Ikat on the national level, Meher sarees has become a prestigious tribute to the traditional Odiya weave.
