Ajrakh Handprinted Collection

Originating from the desert regions of Kutch in Gujarat and Sindh in Pakistan, the ajrakh could have been derived from the Arabic term Azrak meaning blue - after primary colour of the Ajrakh printing. Ajrakh involves 14 complicated steps. The printing and washing stage is repeated multiple times with various natural dyes and mordants, to achieve the earthly yet solid colours. The blocks used in printing have complex geometric and floral patterns merged with one another.
