A traditional handwoven cotton saree was woven by the weavers of the town of Nuapatna in Odisha. The town of Nuapatna is famous for its handwoven traditional mercerised cotton sarees and the tie-dye technique to create motifs on the saree is it’s speciality. Purple and black colour yarns used to weave this saree. Abstract checkered motifs are designed on the purple saree body. Traditional rudraksha patterns are woven for the black borders.
