Bomkai silk saree also known as Sonepuri silk saree is a traditional handwoven saree created at Sonepur district of Odisha. The designs are inspired from the caves of 'khandagiri'. Golden and red colour yarns are used to weave this bomkai silk saree. Traditional bomkai extra yarn motifs are woven on the body with traditional rudraksha motifs woven at the borders by dobby shedding device. Multiple colour yarns are used to weave the bomkai patterns on the pallu. This saree comes with matching blouse piece.
