Description :
Black and green handwoven Sambalpuri cotton saree from the weavers of Sambalpur, Odisha. The pattern for this saree evolves through a process of dyeing the warp and weft threads prior to inter-weaving. This technique of ikat weaving on a traditional handloom is a beautiful art of poetry on the loom. This saree is woven with concentric circular geometrical motifs on the body. Rudraksha dubby borders are woven for this saree. Pallu is woven with ikat floral and geometrical motifs adding to the beauty of this handloom saree. Starched cotton yarn were used in the weaving of this saree, rendering a slightly crispy feel on the surface.
