PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Handcrafted Silk Kantha Saree with Blouse Piece
Colour - Multicolour
Authentic Handcrafted Silk Kantha Saree, handloom in Bengal.

Kantha - Nothing embodies women’s creativity better than the legendary Nakshi Kantha, a Geographical Indication (GI) product of Bengal. Originated as embroidered quilts about a thousand years ago, Kantha has been used to keep babies warm. This has with time developed into a full-fledged art, making way for the embroidery creating lines, fields of colour and motifs on diverse textiles. Biswa Bangla has worked together with thousands of craftswomen in Birbhum district. Design improvement and product diversification has reintroduced Kantha stitch on silk and cotton textiles, and home furnishing products. Increased income has helped these women imbibe confidence, invest in education, nutrition, health and better sanitation.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE :

Care Instruction: Dry Clean Only

Colour and Texture of the product may slightly vary than that in the photograph.

May have slight irregularity which is characteristic of any hand-woven, hand-embroidered or hand-crafted product. Connoisseurs worldwide love handmade products, more because of these small variations in a regular pattern as that adds to the unique charm of these products which are missing in machine-made products.

Missing yarn, slobs and uneven yarn contrasts are general phenomena in hand-woven products. This is a natural outcome and inherent characteristic of the hand-weaving procedure which makes the product all the more unique and beautiful.
