Handwoven red cotton saree from the weavers of Tantuja, West Bengal. The checks saree body and pallu are woven in red cotton dyed yarn. Intricate motifs are highlighted on the pallu. Solid black borders adorns the saree edges. This saree is woven by the skilled professional weavers of Bengal. These weavers strive to uphold the ancient tradition of hand spinning and hand weaving with few advanced technological inputs to bring together the eastern Indian cultural designs. Tantuja by West Bengal State Handloom Weavers Co-operative Society focuses is on the development of the handloom sector in West Bengal. Tantuja was established in 1954 by the Govt.of West Bengal for marketing of handloom products produced by the member Primary Weavers Co-operative Societies.
