A traditional handwoven cotton saree was woven by the weavers of the village of Nuapatna in Odisha. The village of Nuapatna is famous for its handwoven traditional mercerised cotton sarees and the tie-dye technique to create motifs on the saree is its speciality. Blue and black colour yarns used to weave this saree. The body of the saree is woven with flower motifs on the body with traditional ikat design near borders and ikat motifs woven on the border. Ikat flower have been woven on the pallu with multiple horizontal stripes.
