A traditional handwoven cotton saree was woven by the weavers of the village of Nuapatna in Odisha. The village of Nuapatna is famous for its handwoven traditional mercerised cotton sarees and the tie-dye technique to create motifs on the saree is its speciality. This saree is commonly known as Kargil saree. Grey and black colour yarns used to weave this saree. It has temple design woven on the body with stripe patterns and ikat temple motifs woven on border. Ikat konark wheel motif woven on the pallu.
