A traditional handwoven cotton saree was woven by the weavers of the village of Nuapatna in Odisha. The village of Nuapatna is famous for its handwoven traditional mercerised cotton sarees and the tie-dye technique to create motifs on the saree is its speciality. Grey and maroon colour yarns used to weave this saree. The body of the saree is woven with traditional zigzag motifs on the body with traditional ikat design near borders and V shaped dobby border and ikat motifs woven on the border. Ikat motifs have been woven on the pallu with multiple horizontal stripes.
