Bomkai silk saree also known as Sonepuri silk saree is a traditional handwoven saree produced at Sonepur district of Odisha. The designs are inspired from the caves of 'khandagiri'. Parrot green and maroon colour yarns used to weave this saree. Bomkai motifs woven on the body with traditional rudraksha motifs woven on the border by dobby shedding device. Multiple colour yarns used to weave the ikat and bomkai patterns on the pallu. Saree comes with a maroon colour blouse piece, attached in running.
