Straight Wraparound Kalamkari Handwoven Skirt
This product has been specially curated by BEAD, a social enterprise whose mission is to create opportunities for a low-wage earner to supplement family income and improve her living standards. Most of the woven and/or printed materials used to make these products are drawn from the vast textile heritage of India.
The kalamkari fabric used here is handloom cotton and designed with natural dyes.
Color hues may slightly vary from that which appears in the image.
The imperfections in the weave or print, spots of dye or occasional patch of colour, are all features of handloom weaves, hand-prints and the craftsmanship involved in the production of this fabric.
• First, soak the skirt for 5 minutes in half bucket of cold water + 2 teaspoons of common salt. Rinse and dry in shade.
• For subsequent washes, use mild soap, do not soak, rinse thoroughly and dry inside out in shade.
• Sunlight will cause the garment to fade. Hand wash is preferable; machine wash in cold water with similar colours only.
