Maroon and brown handwoven sambalpuri cotton ikat saree from the weavers of Bargarh, Odisha. The pattern on the saree evolves through a process of dyeing the warp and weft threads prior to inter-weaving. This technique of ikat weaving on a traditional handloom is a beautiful art of "poetry on the loom". This saree has geometrical stripe motifs woven by single ikat on body. The saree is woven with rudraksha borders. Floral motifs are woven on the pallu as stripes.
