Blue and maroon handwoven sambalpuri cotton ikat saree from the weavers of Sambalpur, Odisha. The pattern for this saree evolves through a process of dyeing the warp and weft threads prior to inter-weaving. This technique of ikat weaving on a traditional handloom is a beautiful art of "poetry on the loom". This saree is woven with wavy zig zag design running warp-wise on the body. Dobby rudraksha border is woven for this saree. The flower design stripes on pallu add to the beauty of this handloom saree.
