Woven Threads is a design initiative to encourage the women weavers of Nagaland to sustain their roots and preserve their unique weaving traditions. The initiative gives the women a platform to express their creativity and supports young weavers.
Woven Threads started with a single weaver in November 2014. Today, they are very proud that their weavers are located throughout Nagaland. Abiding by the traditional ethos of fabric making that their foremothers have practiced through the ages, all of their products are hand woven and are also hand stitched. The fabric used is off the loom, with minimal or zero wastage. Three words that best describe the Woven Threads products are contemporary, minimal and stylish.
