Double shaded blue-orange silk saree from the weavers of Dommasandra, Karnataka of Priyadarshini Handlooms, KHDC. This silk saree is a result of the classic handloom method of weaving combined with modern design forms. Striped zari buttis with green and blue peacock motifs are woven on the saree body. Bright orange border adorn the saree edges. Cyan blue shade contrast pallu of this saree has intricate traditional designs woven in golden zari. The Karnataka handloom development corporation (KHDC) is a govt. organisation that manages the traditional handloom weavers from across the rural areas of Karnataka. They encourage the ancient techniques of weaving by providing assistance with raw materials and means to trade.
