Business Overview
Sonamling Tibetan settlement was established in 1969 with an initial population of 4700 Tibetan refugees. The settlement is is nearly 7 kms from Leh city. Sonamling Tibetan settlement consists of 11 scattered villages. Each village is numerically identified. The camp no 3 is the central camp of the settlement as all the offices of government and non government organizations are located here.
Objectives
1. To procure and supply consumer goods to its members.
2. To procure and supply of seeds, fertilizers and feeds to its members on cash/loan.
3. To find out better market for pashmina, wool and other products of its members on commission basis.
4. To introduce handicrafts to supplement the income of its members.
5. To undertake such other activities as are conductive to the attainment of the above objects.
