Business Overview
Multipurpose (Phuntsokling) Tibetan Co-operative Society Ltd, Orissa was established on 27th May 1966 with the sole objective of raising the living standards of its members. Its activities and functions benefit not just the members but also the entire population of the settlement Society. The settlement is situated in Gajapati District at distance of 80 kms, in the west of Behrampur City of Orissa state. The local inhabitants are mostly tribal. The settlement was set up with the generous assistance from the Indian Government and other voluntary agency like Swiss Technical Co-operation.
Objectives
1. To purchase goods on wholesale rates, and to sell to the members at reasonable prices, all articles of consumption manufactured either by itself or in combination with other voluntary organisation who are helping the Tibetan refugees.
2. To arrange self help, thrift and co-operation among members.
3. To repair and provide other services related to all articles sold by the society to its members.
4. To raise funds to conduct the businesses of the society.
5. To purchase and sell agricultural produces of the members at a reasonable rate.
