Business Overview

Norgyeling Tibetan settlement was established in 1972. Many Tibetans working on road construction as laborers in different parts of Himalayan foothills were moved to this settlement. it is the only Tibetan settlement in the Maharashtra State of India. The Multipurpose Tibetan Co-operative Society Ltd is located at Gondia District and is 150 kms away from city of Nagpur. The society was registered on October 7th, 1974. The co-operative society provides services for improvement of welfare of its members. The activities of the society are performed in accordance with the Maharashtra Act of 1960 and Byelaws of co-operative society.

Objectives

1. To inculcate savings among members.

2. To encourage the members to be self-sufficient and also encourage the members to deposit surplus money with the society.

3. To provide short term and medium term loans to the members.

4. To supply inputs like fertilizers, insecticide and pesticides, seeds consumer durables, raw materials for handicrafts, spare for machinery ans all other requirements for the benefits of members.

5. To encourage and educate members about benefits of organic and natural farming, so as to enable the members to adapt organic and natural farming gradually.

6. To procure agricultural commodities from members from outright basis, consignment basis and under pooling system, arrange for selling the same for best advantage of the members with an intention to get the best price in the market
