Business Overview
Choephelling Tibetan Service Co-operative Society Ltd., is located at Arunachal Pradesh, with the help from the Ministry of rehabilitation , Government of India. Agriculture farming is the primary occupation of the settlers. The Co-operative was registered as per rules of State Co-operative Societies Act on 11th January, 1980. The settlers cultivate maize, millet, barley, potatoes and chilly. Due to low per capita land holding, lack of irrigation facilities and poor technical know how, yield are very low and do not fetch enough income. Some of the settlers also do carpet weaving. There are few villages in the settlement with an average of 80 families each village. The main objective for setting up this co-operative society is to look after the welfare of its share holder with the frame work of bye laws of these society. The shareholders have received the benefits directly or indirectly from the business units of this Co-operative Society.
Objectives
1. To purchase goods on wholesale rates, and to sell to the members at reasonable prices, all articles of consumption manufactured either by itself or in combination with other voluntary organisation who are helping the Tibetan refugees.
2. To arrange self help, thrift and co-operation among members.
3. To encourage joint Co-operative farming amongst the members.
4. To provide facilities to members for the grading and transport of their products
5. To purchase and sell agricultural produces of the members at a reasonable rate.
